Jim Skinner has been encoding video since the Windows 95 release, which started his 14 year tenure at Microsoft. Jim then had a 5 year stint at Twitter, where he managed the technical execution of every promoted live stream that Twitter funded at the time (NFL games, the U.S. political conventions, etc.). Currently at Meta, Jim is working on the metaverse, which is easily the most interesting challenge in his career this far. He also insists it’s the most fun.
